I thought I would share a few pictures of my teapots, sugar bowls and creamers with you all. I think I have told this story before but some of you may not know it. This sugar bowl and creamer belonged to my mother. She told me when she was a very young girl, a man came by the house peddling his wares. He was riding a horse and carried his things to sell inside saddle bags that hung down each side of the horse. He was showing his things to sell to my grandparents and my mother saw this set. She asked if she could have it and my grandfather said yes. This was a rare treat as few things were ever bought at her home. This was the first item to go into her “hope chest.”
And here they are sitting nice and pretty on the shelves Hubby built for me.
Today is cloudy here with a coolness in the air. I think we are supposed to get cooler temps this weekend. We went over to clean the church yesterday. It was our last week of cleaning until next September. The men at church have been working on putting a roof over the entrance to the basement. Grace got a few pictures of them hard at work.
They got quite a lot done and they are working there today as well. I hope you all enjoy your day and God bless.
This is a picture of our Grundy home. The original house was built by my grandparents. It (like most old homes) had rooms added on. I was 12 years old when I first moved into this home and 40 when I left. Leaving was hard. Life changes though and we must be able to change with it. I have so many happy memories of this place but I also have many happy memories of where I am now.
The girls and I have been busy. We had 23 qts. of green beans. We finished them today. We also put more squash in the freezer. We are going down to Jessica’s this evening. Tomorrow us girls will be going blueberry picking while Dad and PawPaw watch the two boys. After that we plan on going to Lifeway and then out to eat. We will be coming back home tomorrow evening.
Enjoy your day and God bless.
I’m sorry I don’t have a picture to post today. Things have been very busy around here this week. We got to have some MawMaw and PawPaw time Tuesday and Wednesday. Those of you who are grandparents know that takes top priority over everything else. Daniel’s highlight of his stay was riding around the farm in PawPaw’s truck. Wednesday night was really nice. David, Jess, and Daniel went to the fellowship meal with us at church. Everyone (of course) was tremendously impressed with Daniel. Thursday morning brought water heater problems. We replaced both elements and thought our problem was fixed. We should have known better. Never does plumbing go that smooth. We left to have dinner with some friends of ours. We were blessed to pick some apples at their farm. We came home and discovered a hugh water leak under the sink. I mean really under the sink, between the dirt and the floor. The back part of our house sits directly on the ground so this presented a rather large problem. MY WONDERFUL HUBBY ( with my help) managed to get this fixed today. Also I have decided to attempt to sell my crafts at another festival. This one will be Oct. 3. This means I have 1 week to get more stuff made. Today after helping with the plumbing and putting poly on a cabinet we are making for ourselves, I finally got to do some sewing. I made a set of cloth napkins, 1 apron, and set up 1 lap quilt. Hopefully I will finish the quilt tomorrow. It is a Christmas quilt. I will try to post a picture of it when finished. Well it is late. I am tired. God Bless.
