This is the new Friday Ladies Study. I think it will be really good. We have done one by this lady before. The study of Ruth. It was a really good so hopefully this one will be also. I love starting new studies-so exciting.
We are getting some rain today with high winds. I hung the clothes on the line outside but we had to hurry out and get them when the rain started. They got about half way dry though before that happened. Temperature is extremely warm for us, 57 degrees. I love warmer temps. Everything is starting to get green already. We traveled to a little town close by Saturday, Rocky Mount. On the way we saw some forsynthias blooming and a few Easter Lillies. We also saw fields that were really green. Very exciting.
Lunchbreak is almost over and I haven’t even ate yet. I better get off this computer and get busy eating. Enjoy your day and God bless.
Our newest addition. Ain’t they cute! The girls are soooooo excited. They never thought of having kittens to play with this late in the year. They belong to “Stripes”. You all have seen pictures of her in previous posts. They seem to be very healthy and she is a wonderful mama.
Today we had to go to Roanoke to the dentist. Afterward we went to Sam’s club. Sam’s does this thing called click and pull. You can go on line, order your stuff and they will pull it for you. They will have it waiting at customer service. All you have to do is walk in, give them your name, pay for it and walk out the door. Pretty amazing, I think. This made our day so much easier. We even made it home it time to do some school.
Yesterday, for supper, we had chicken and dumplings with green beans. I used the remainder of the chicken and made southwest chicken soup for supper tonight. Easy stuff. We will be having mexican cornbread with this and honey baked apples for dessert.
We just finished having a tremendous hail storm here. Lots of rain and high winds. The temperature dropped about 14 degrees in just a few minutes. It had been very warm before the storm came through. Enjoy your evening and God bless.
Our biggest accomplishment for today was getting the chimney fixed. High winds in early spring had blown down the chimney and as I have said it is starting to get cool at night here in Floyd. My brother-in-law came over to help us fix it. We were very blessed to find this aluminum pipe down at the barn and it just fit perfectly over the stainless steel pipe that fits in the brick part of the chimney. This all sounds complicated and in some ways it is. The original chimney( as you can tell) is very old and was not useable. We had to line it with a stainless steel pipe which was not tall enough. The chimney must be above the ridgeline of the house or it will not draw. Every year we have to replace the pipes that extend on above the ridgeline. Hopefully this won’t happen now as aluminum does not rust. Therefore it should last much longer. I certainly pray so. George was very glad to get this off his to-do list. Today is busy with school and getting ready for church tonight. Hope everyone has a great day. God Bless.
This picture was taken from the top of the hill, looking down on the back side of our house. The view from here is beautiful. As I have said before we are very blessed to live in a beautiful part of God’s creation. I’ll be getting me some MawMaw time this weekend(can’t wait). Of course he pays more attention to PawPaw than MawMaw but I don’t mind. I take whatever I can get. Temperatures will be warmer there so the girls are looking forward to that. Me, I kinda like the cooler temps. I really enjoy fall with the colors and of course the thanksgiving meal. I do however dread the below zero temperatures and the high winds that come with winter. Well I guess it can’t all be good. Have a good day and God Bless.
