We took this picture of Katie Sunday when they came for a visit.  She really is growing and seems to be a very content little lady.  You all remember how I said it was cold here Monday.  Well, Tuesday morning it was 10 degrees with the wind chill below zero.  Our water froze in the bathroom and the new laundry room.  A little disappointing as Hubby thought he had it fixed so it would not freeze.  I tell you all, when the wind blows hard like that it can find the tiniest little hole to get in and freeze pipes.  Anyway, he thawed out the water and insulated more around the pipes, so hopefuly it is fixed now.  Wednesday morning was cold too.  Temperature was 10 degrees again but not near as much wind so it didn’t feel as cold.  Our hard working wood stove is very much appreciated.  Today however has been very nice-low 40′s.   Thank you, Lord.

This is the new color of the old laundry room.  The trim is white and the door is antique white.  Hubby has to finish the trim and then it will be all done.  He is also working on painting the bathroom.

The inside wall of the old laundry room is the original outside of the house.  Jess had this paint left over from her bedroom.  I think it looks very good on this wall.  I wish I could figure out a way to take a picture that would show how it looks all together but it is a work in progress.  Hubby will paint the trim today.   After that we plan on going over to a friends house for a visit and a haircut. 

Temperatures here are very nice.  It was 42 degrees when we got up this morning.   We decided to let the fire go out today.  YEAH!  That always makes me feel a little “springy”.    I have clothes to hang on the line (of course).  Don’t we always have laundry?

I changed my supper menu last night to fried chicken, potato salad and green beans.  It was so nice and warm.  It reminded me of picnic days.  Tonights menu will be chicken stir fry with egg rolls.  I fried enough chicken last night to have left over for tonight.  I like to do that.  It makes the cooking a little easier and faster if I the meat is cooked in advance.

Time to hang my clothes outside and listen to a little praise music from our birds.  They are starting to sing such beautiful spring songs.  Enjoy your day and God bless.

This is a picture of our new shelf Hubby and I made yesterday for the new laundry room.  I’m sorry  it is not a very good picture.  I forgot to take the picture before we moved it into the room.  After it was in the room, I couldn’t get enough room to show the whole shelf.  The top shelf is 5 ft tall and it is 30 in. long with a depth of 9 in.  I will be storing all my laundry and cleaning supplies on it.   He will be building another shelf soon to store our bulk items. 

Temperature here is very nice today-upper 40′s.  Sunshine.  I love it.  The girls are working on school and I am getting ready to hang more clothes on the line outside.   Hubby is busy painting the old laundry room.  I am a blessed woman.

I am making homemade pizza for lunch.  Supper menu will be fried chicken, gravy, corn and homemade biscuits.  As I said earlier, I am a blessed woman.  Enjoy your day and God bless.

We finally have the time and money to begin framing our new laundry room.  Hubby had put down new flooring for it earlier in the summer.  Then work stopped for a while.  Yesterday we framed it up.  Today we will be going to get the OSB for the walls and begin putting them up.  I am so excited.  Hopefully, we will be able to get it done before it gets too cold to work on it.  We will be moving the washer and dryer out in this room.  Hubby is also putting in a small bathroom area.   One bathroom is hard sometimes.    Our laundry room now is very small and crowded.  It will be so nice to have extra room.  We had a really nice day yesterday to work.  It was a little windy, kept blowing away our tools, but other than that really nice.

Beautiful sunshine.  Temperature in the upper 60′s.  A really nice day.  Well, I better get busy.  Enjoy your day and God bless.

I have no pictures to post today as I forgot the camera at Jessica’s.  The girls and I came home to check on everything and wash some more clothes.  We are leaving this morning to go back down.  Hubby stayed at Jessica’s so he could get the drywall hung on the ceiling after David got in from work.  They decided since the damage was so major they should just redo the entire laundry room.  A redo was on the to-do list anyway.  This just speeding it up a little. 

Saturday was Daniel’s birthday party day.  We had lots of fun.  I have pictures of his party on my camera.  I will post those next time, if I don’t forget my camera again.  Well, I just wanted to let you all know where we where on the repairs.  Enjoy your day and God bless.

Water can do a lot  of damage.  This is what Dave found when he discovered a water leak behind the wall where his breaker box is.  Lots of damage.  Obviously this had been leaking for quite a while.

We went down on Tuesday evening as soon as we got the distress call. 

 Hubby and Dave fixed the leak yesterday and went to Lowes to get materials. They are tearing out the floor today and beginning repairs.  Jess and I came back to Floyd to do some of her laundry as this leak occurred in her laundry room.  The plan is to put new sheetrock on the walls and ceiling, also they are putting down tile on the floor.  All the old must come up before any of the new can go down.  They think they will also have to replace the floor joists too and level up the floor.  Lots of work.   I have been really blessed to have a man who knows how to fix all this.

I think life is much about choices.  How we look at things determine how we react to them.  For example we can choose to see this as just ugly weeds we wish did not grow in our yard or

we can view them as bright, beautiful, yellow flowers.  Years ago, when my daughters were little, they taught me to love dandelions.   Dandelions are usually the first flowers little hands gather and deliver with much love to their mamas.  How special that makes them.  Perhaps that is why God created them.  Anyway my girls and I love them. 

This is a flower almost everyone loves.  My lilac bush is starting to bloom!  I can hardly wait.  The bush is outside our laundry room window and it smells wonderful when in bloom. 

The girls and I worked very hard last week getting the garden ready to burn off.  Somehow the pile seemed so much bigger last week.  Anyway we worked every day after school except one.  It rained that day.  It is now ready to burn.  Hopefully if it is not too windy Hubby will do it this evening.  Then it will be ready for him to till.  He has to do some work on our tiller first but anyway we are gettting closer.  I hope to have it tilled and ready to start planting by the end of the month.  I love it!  David is gone on a business trip, so Jess and Daniel are coming up to stay with us.  I am looking forward to a great visit.  Everyone take care and may God bless your day.
