Yesterday was a fun day.  Baby Sam came to MawMaw’s house for the very first time.

He seemed to enjoy himself.  I know MawMaw and PawPaw certainly did enjoy it.

Just one more picture.  Don’t he look content and happy.

Daniel had a great time with a bottle sprayer filled with water.  All MawMaw’s plants needed a drink and he had a great time giving it to them.

I think this is my favorite picture of the day.  Ain’t he soooooo cute?

What do you think they are looking at?

A frog of course.

My Julie.  The gift my Lord surprised me with at 40.

At 41 my Lord gave me another gift.  Grace.  I never imagined the Lord had more babies for me.  My daughters(all 3) have taught me so much about life and love.    I am such a blessed woman.  Such joy He has given me.  My family is so important to me and I cannot never thank the Lord enough for allowing me to be part of their lives.  God is so good.  Enjoy your day and God bless.

Okay, so our visit went by much too quick.  Monday evening when they first arrived it seemed like such a long time, but now it is Thursday and they are gone.  I miss them already.  We had so much fun. We went to a park here in town.  When the girls were little they called it “the colored swings.”  We, of course, still call them that.  Tuesday was a beautiful day, we packed a picnic lunch and headed into town.  We had a great time.  Wednesday was cool here.  Not much outside activity.  Today however is gorgeous.  Nice and warm with lots of sunshine.

Doesn’t he look like he is having fun!

The girls had a great time keeping up with him.  Well, maybe not a great time but they did have fun.

No fear-no gain.  Tuesday evening while we were outside burning off the garden, Daniel had lots of fun playing Superman.   As I have said before he is all boy.  Time for me to start supper.  I think tonight’s menu will be sloppy joes and fries.  Something easy.  MawMaw needs to rest.  (Just kidding)  I don’t think anything makes me feel any younger than being around small children.  They love so freely and completely.  No wonder Christ said for us to come to Him as a little child.  Take care and God bless.

Here are some pictures of the fun we had last Thursday on Jess and Daniel’s visit.  In the first picture, we are outside playing, the next picture is coltsfoot (one of our earliest wildflowers to bloom).  We took a ride around the farm in “MawMaw’s bumpy truck”.  On the tractor road, we spotted these kildeer walking on the road.  Jess took the picture from the truck.  I think they might have a nest somewhere close as they did not want to leave thier area.  The last picture is Daniel, thinking.  I am not exactly sure but it looks like he is trying to figure out how to get the sawdust in his wheelbarrow.  We had lots of fun!

Tonight’s menu is pork tenderloin on the grill, french fries and corn on the cob-frozen from our garden last year.  I gathered some rhubarb today and plan to make rhubarb dumplings for dessert.

Rosemary Marinade Recipe

1/3 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup lemon juice

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp minced garlic

2-4 tsp dried rosemary-crushed

Combine all ingredients.  Pour over beef, chicken, or pork. (I use this on all types of meat).   School is finished for today.  Time to enjoy the sun.  We got our bikes out today, pumped up the tires, and oiled the chains.  We rode for a little while.  Long enough for me to discover how out of shape I am.  It will take a while before I can keep up with the girls.  I hope to work some on the garden this evening.  We have some clean up to do before Hubby can plow.  I hope you all enjoy your evening.  Take care and God bless.

No picture with this post.  Just exciting news.  Jessica is pregnant!!!!!!!  Isn’t the God we serve amazing.  Her estimated due date is early June.  They are both extremely happy and of course MawMaw is too.  More on that little tidbit later.  About my selling day at the Fair.  Not too good.  I paid $30.00 for the spot and made $32.00.  A big $2.00 profit, but at least I made that much.  It was however a fun day.  I met lots of different people and enjoyed lots of sunshine.  And of course spent some time with Daniel.  How much better could a day be.  I’ve been shopping today so we are behind with school and other chores.  I better get busy.  God Bless.

I’m sorry I don’t have a picture to post today.  Things have been very busy around here this week.  We got to have some MawMaw and PawPaw time Tuesday and Wednesday.  Those of you who are grandparents know that takes top priority over everything else.  Daniel’s highlight of his stay was riding around the farm in PawPaw’s truck.   Wednesday night was really nice.   David, Jess, and Daniel went to the fellowship meal with us at church.  Everyone (of course) was tremendously impressed with Daniel.  Thursday morning brought water heater problems.  We replaced both elements and thought our problem was fixed.  We should have known better.  Never does plumbing go that smooth.  We left to have dinner with some friends of ours.  We were blessed to pick some apples at their farm.  We came home and discovered a hugh water leak under the sink.  I mean really under the sink, between the dirt and the floor.  The back part of our house sits directly on the ground so this presented a rather large problem.  MY WONDERFUL HUBBY ( with my help) managed to get this fixed today.  Also I have decided to attempt to sell my crafts at another festival.  This one will be Oct. 3.  This means I have 1 week to get more stuff made.  Today after helping with the plumbing and putting poly on a cabinet we are making for ourselves, I finally got to do some sewing.  I made a set of cloth napkins, 1 apron, and set up 1 lap quilt.  Hopefully I will finish the quilt tomorrow.  It is a Christmas quilt.  I will try to post a picture of it when finished.  Well it is late. I am tired.  God Bless.

This picture was taken from the top of the hill, looking down on the back side of our house.  The view from here is beautiful.  As I have said before we are very blessed to live in a beautiful part of God’s creation.   I’ll be getting me some MawMaw time this weekend(can’t wait).  Of course he pays more attention to PawPaw than MawMaw but I don’t mind.  I take whatever I can get.  Temperatures will be warmer there so the girls are looking forward to that.  Me, I kinda like the cooler temps.   I really enjoy fall with the colors and of course the thanksgiving meal.   I do however dread the below zero temperatures and the high winds that come with winter.  Well I guess it can’t all be good.  Have a good day and God Bless.

I must be getting soft in my old age.  What was I thinking?  We went to visit my oldest daughter this weekend.  She wanted to get our grandson a puppy.  We found some free and I suppose Dad and I gave in to the excitement of the moment and brought this guy home.  He completely enjoyed the ride home(over 1 hour) in Julie’s lap so I suppose this means he likes to ride.  He is lab and shepherd mix.  We already have 1 large dog (chow and retriever mix)100_2010

He is an excellent farm dog and we want him to train Jasper to be a good dog also.   Other than the puppy we also got some new clothes  for the girls while shopping with Jess.  Dad and David did some more remodel on Dave’s bathroom.  Walls are sheetrocked and shower stall is built.  Pictures of this can be found on Dave’s blog www.dlbates.com.  We also received some much needed MawMaw and PawPaw time.    I wanted to let everyone know my husband also has a blog he has started working on www.gdjg55.com.  Check  it   out.
