Some pictures of the area we went to Sunday for our picnic.  The rocks formations are very pretty.

They have lots of picnic tables set up all around the picnic area.  We hope to go back soon when everything is not so wet.

Being wet, however, did not stop adventures.  Daniel had a wonderful time playing.  Today is wet still.  We had lots of rain pass through last night and it is still extremely overcast with fog.  A little chilly  this morning, mid 40′s.  I think the rain makes it feel much chillier.  We are working on school today.  We are almost finished with history and science.   YEAH!  Well, I better get busy.  Enjoy your day and God bless.

I think you can learn a lot about a man by his hands.  These hands say I work hard.  I am married.  I love to work the land.  I’m sure if I were a good writer I could write a story just from this picture.  This man loves the Lord.  Not only in word but in action.  We are very blessed to have him as our pastor.  Thank you Lord!

A picture of his grapes.  He has several different types of grapevines growing.  I forget what he told me the name of these were but they were very sweet and delicious.

The girls and I have been busy with beans.  We canned 11 quarts yesterday.  One of them broke in the canner so we only had 10 to add to the canning list.  I picked a gallon of blackberries this morning and we’ll can those later today.    We love to make blackberry dumplings and cobblers.  I also want to make salsa today.  I think we have enough tomatoes.  They are mostly yellow tomatoes so it will look a little different but hopefully taste just as good.  Maybe even better.  I know we have enough peppers.

Sunday morning is our Sunday School breakfast.  Every year we have a big breakfast at Smartview Park-a small picnic area on the Blueridge Parkway.  After breakfast we do Sunday school.  Tom will proably have a message as well.  We love all our little get-togethers we have.  Our church is really big on fellowship and I am glad.  I think it is an important part of being a church family.  If I remember the camera I will try to take some pictures to show you all.

I guess I better get busy.  Take care and God bless.

We had so much fun today!  We went with our friends, the Horns, to this place called Grayson Highlands State Park.  It was very beautiful there.  This is one of the first places went.

Lots of old houses set up to walk through and look at.

An absolutely beautiful sky to enjoy.

A beautiful picnic area.

Then we begin our hike.

The temperature was at least 20 degrees cooler with a heavy wind.  It actually felt like we were walking in air conditioning.

Here’s one of the main things we came to see.  Wild ponies.  We did not see very many but the few we did see definitely made the trip worthwhile.  I had so many beautiful pictures of the scenery it was very difficult to choose what picture to post.  I know this is a lot of pictures but I really could have put much more.  Finally a happy crew ready to start the climb back down.

I pray your day was as nice as ours.  Take care and God bless.

I have no picture to post today.  I just wanted to let everyone know I was still around.  David is working on my computer this week so hopefully I will be back in action soon.  Things have been very busy here this past week.  We were blessed with a beef.  Billy had butchered him for someone and they did not want the meat.  He was an old bull-about 10 years old and weighed about 1800 pounds.  My friend Vicki and I have been working all last week to process it.  We are cutting some of the meat in chunks and canning it.  We are making hamburger out of the rest.  We are about half done (I think).  George and Quentin-Vicki’s hubbie-will be helping us tomorrow.  I will let you all know the total of cans and hamburger we get when we finish.  We went to visit Jess yesterday.  She is scheduled to have her labor induced June 7th.  Little Samuel will soon be here.  We took the cradle down and it is all set up and ready.  Just needs a little one in it.  Continue to pray for them.  We took the long way home today and stopped at a little picnic area.  It was very pretty with lots of overlooks.  We then stopped at this little store in Meadows of Dan and they were having a craft show.  Lots of cool stuff to look at, lots of new ideas for me to work on.  Of course, we took the camera case down to Jessica’s however the camera was not in the case.  So I have no pictures to show you.  Oh well, that’s pretty typical of me.  Enjoy your Sunday and God bless.
