I thought I would share a few pictures with you all of the picnic and baptism we had Sunday. This is the pond where we do our baptizing. Beautiful! This pond is located on Route 8 here in Floyd close to the Bread Basket.

This is a young man from our church. He and his dad were baptized Sunday. We somehow missed getting the dad’s picture. I have been busy all last week and yesterday helping Hubby with a job. He has been remodeling a bathroom. Today, I picked blackberries, some more green beans and tomatoes while the girls worked on inside house chores. We will be busy working on those today. We also have some peaches to can but they may have to wait until tomorrow.

Here are a few random pictures I took this morning. The blackberries are looking pretty good this year.

A tomato ripening on the vine.

A view of the back side of the house. Temperature here has cooled down a little. Not as humid as last week. Or maybe it just feels that way because I’m not underneath that house running pipe for plumbing. (lol) Well, I better get busy. I hear blackberries calling our names. Enjoy your day and God bless.

Here’s our progress so far. The outside is finished except for the siding. Hubby calls this “dried in”. Anyway we are glad we got this far yesterday as it is raining today. We will be working on the inside of the room today. I think we will be moving some of the plumbing over and putting up the insulation. Maybe even working on some of the electrical.
Sunday was Pastor Appreciation Day at our church. We had a potluck dinner (of course). We take advantage of every chance we have to eat! It was a nice day. We didn’t have Sunday night study as we were there so late for the dinner. Sunday evening we went down to Jessica’s for a surprise visit. They did not know we were coming. Hubby needed the little window that you see in the picture of the room. There is a place near Jess that sells used windows at a good price so we went down to get the window. We spent the night with Jess then went and got the window Monday morning and heading back home. It was a good visit. She was so surprised when she came to the door and saw us standing there. I love surprises!
Well, I guess I better get busy. Hubby is ready to work. Enjoy your day and God bless.

Here are a few pictures of the decorations for bible school. Our theme this year was Harvesting God’s Word. We had lots of good lessons, fun crafts and games, and of course good food. We averaged around 17 kids each night. I wanted to get some pictures of the kids, but Hubby put it all on video and I don’t know how to load that on the blog. Our pastor was there every night. He has such a heart for kids. I think he had as much fun as they did.
Progress is slow but moving on the new room. A minor setback occurred when we decided to put the door in a different place. This required undoing almost all we had done. Hubby had to remove the floor and do all the plumbing drains different. This will be much better though than the original plan.
The girls and I have been busy today putting up gooseberries in the freezer. We had 6 bags. This is the first time I have froze gooseberries. I hope they will be good. I also gathered some squash and zucchini to put in the freezer. We will be enjoying the first of our broccoli this evening with supper. I think home grown broccoli is so much better than store bought but then I think everything is better home grown. If I finish these other veggies in time, I think I will put up some rhubarb. I have gotten a little behind with my harvesting due to bible school and the new room. Oh well, all in God’s time. It has been a very pleasant morning for me. I so much enjoy putting up our own veggies that we raise in our garden. It always gives me a feeling of peace and contentment.
We are planning to go to the fireworks this evening in town. We had hoped the Horn’s would get to meet us there but Quentin had to work. Jess and Dave are going to enjoy fireworks down at their town. They will be coming up next weekend. Sam’s first trip to the mountains. I can hardly wait to see them all. I guess I better get busy if I expect to get anything done. Happy 4th of July. Take care and God bless.

I’m sorry I don’t have a picture to post today. Things have been very busy around here this week. We got to have some MawMaw and PawPaw time Tuesday and Wednesday. Those of you who are grandparents know that takes top priority over everything else. Daniel’s highlight of his stay was riding around the farm in PawPaw’s truck. Wednesday night was really nice. David, Jess, and Daniel went to the fellowship meal with us at church. Everyone (of course) was tremendously impressed with Daniel. Thursday morning brought water heater problems. We replaced both elements and thought our problem was fixed. We should have known better. Never does plumbing go that smooth. We left to have dinner with some friends of ours. We were blessed to pick some apples at their farm. We came home and discovered a hugh water leak under the sink. I mean really under the sink, between the dirt and the floor. The back part of our house sits directly on the ground so this presented a rather large problem. MY WONDERFUL HUBBY ( with my help) managed to get this fixed today. Also I have decided to attempt to sell my crafts at another festival. This one will be Oct. 3. This means I have 1 week to get more stuff made. Today after helping with the plumbing and putting poly on a cabinet we are making for ourselves, I finally got to do some sewing. I made a set of cloth napkins, 1 apron, and set up 1 lap quilt. Hopefully I will finish the quilt tomorrow. It is a Christmas quilt. I will try to post a picture of it when finished. Well it is late. I am tired. God Bless.
