Spring Is Coming

Hello everyone! I hope you have all been having a good week so far. Grace and I spotted these beautiful colts foot starting to bloom along the back side of our road.

Also the pretty periwinkle. These two flowers are our first ones to bloom in the spring. We start looking for them mid February. It is a little challenge between Grace and her godparents to see who spots them first. Grace loves to win!!

I also started a jar of fermented carrots yesterday. It has been several years since I made them. I think they look very pretty in the jar.

Grace took this picture the other day of Juicy. I think it is such a good picture of him. Don’t be fooled by his innocent look. He is definitely a mischief maker!

I am not sure what I will be working on today. The sun is shining right now and it is supposed to be warm. It is really muddy though so maybe I will do something inside.

God bless.

Fun Day

Grace and I took the kids to Christiansburg today to do some yarn shopping. You may recall I made Daniel a super hero cape a few months back. So now it is Sam’s turn for me to make him one.

He chose these Caron Latte Cakes and the color is velvet teal. I always said I didn’t want to use this yarn for any project. It is very fuzzy. Of course, that would be the very yarn he chose.

I have already started it and it isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It is definitely soft, which is what he wanted.

They were on sale at Michael’s, buy one get one half off so I thought it was a good time to get Katie’s yarn as well. Looks like I will have a lot of practice working with this yarn.😏

It was a really fun day and now I have the yarn here to work on in my spare time.

God bless.

Tea Party

Katie and I had a little tea party this evening. It was her turn to come to the farm for some alone time with Mawmaw. Grace has her GED class on Wednesday evenings.

We had so much fun.

Tea party food is her favorite. After we ate, we spent some time organizing seeds. Then we filled up a few of the stackable planters with dirt, getting them ready for seeds. It was a fun evening.

When Daniel was over for his alone time, we worked on learning to embroider. Sam and I played cards. I am so thankful they live close so we can have these special times together.

Enjoy your week and God bless.

Valentine’s Meal and Other Things

Hello everyone! I hope you have all been having a good weekend. We enjoyed a great valentine’s meal yesterday at Jessica’s. Great food and great fellowship. I so love my little family.Look at this awesome picture Dave took of John Luke. He is showing off his muscles. I love it!I have ordered a few seeds in anticipation of spring. It will soon be time to get some early things started. I want to make a stick trellis for the malabar spinach to run on. It is new to me for this year. I am excited to try it.Daniel is learning embroidery. He seems to enjoy doing it.

That’s about it for now. God bless.
