First Fire and Pumpkin Carving

We built our first fire today. Amazing! Today is October 29th. I don’t think I have ever been able to wait this long before building a fire.

We do have this little propane heater which we have used a couple of times but it really has been a mild fall so far. The fall colors have been beautiful!!

We also enjoyed some pumpkin carving.

Everyone did such a good job! I love how they are all unique!

I hope y’all have a wonderful day. God bless!

Wood Day

Thursday was wood moving day. The kids pitched in and helped Grace and I get it all moved to all house. With the help of our neighbor,  we moved 5 pickup truck loads. Long day but …

We are ready for winter. Canning building is full of home canned goodies and wood shed is full. God bless!

Spanish Noodles

1 lb ground beef, 1 cup chopped onion, 1 tsp minced garlic, 1 and 1/2 cup macaroni noodles, 1 cup frozen peas, 1 cup frozen corn, 1 pint tomato juice, 1 to 2 cups stock, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp dried cilantro, salt and pepper to taste. May need to add more liquid to get to desired thickness. I usually add about 2 cups water.

This is a very good soup. When Jessica was a child, this was one of her favorite soups. I have changed it just a little bit. The original recipe did not call for corn.
