Wendy’s Frosty

Homemade Chocolate Frosty
Makes 1 quart

2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup (4 ounces) chocolate syrup
1 (7 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Whisk together the milk, chocolate syrup, and condensed milk, and refrigerate until chilled, at least one hour. In a separate mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and vanilla until soft peaks just begin to form. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Pour the chocolate milk mixture into the bowl of the ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturers instructions (about 15 – 20 minutes in my Cuisinart). Once the ice cream is thick, turn the maker off, remove the paddle, and fold in the chilled whipped cream until it is completely incorporated.

Serve immediately, or transfer to a covered, freezer-safe container and freeze. (If freezing, let ice cream soften a few minutes before serving; you want it to be the consistency of a milkshake.)

Homemade Liquid Hand or Body Soap

I got this recipe from:

http://www.thefarmersnest.com/2011/11/liquid-hand-soap-diy.html

Cheese grater (from the dollar store)
2 Tablespoons of Liquid Glycerin (found in the band aid section at any drugstore or grocery store)
1 – 8 oz bar of soap
1 gallon of water

Grate the entire bar of soap. Fill a pot with 1 gallon of distilled water and add the soap shavings.

Add 2 Tablespoons of liquid glycerin and turn the heat to medium/high and stir until the soap dissolves.
Leave it alone to cool for at least 10-12 hours. It begins to cloud up after 3-4 hours.
After it has cooled completely around 12 hours later it will harden and look like liquid soap.
If the soap is harder than it should be you can take some beaters and blend it while adding just a little bit of water until the consistency is more like liquid soap.

Chili Beans

1 lb ground beef, 1 lg onion-chopped, 1 med green pepper-chopped.  Brown together in large skillet.  Pour into large pot.

Add:  1 pt tomatoes or 1 qt home canned tomato juice, 1 small can tomato sauce or 1 small can tomato paste, 1 pkg chili seasoning mix (I prefer Chili-O brand), 1 tsp. chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, 3 cans kidney beans.   If this looks too thick, add water till reach desired consistency.  Salt and pepper to taste.  I also add garlic salt.

To can this pressure pints 75 min, qts 90 min on 10 lb pressure.
