Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a good week so far. We have definitely had an assortment of weather types here this week. The first of the week was beautiful, warm. Our temperature one day was 70 degrees. It felt like spring. I hung clothes out on the line. Then the rain came-in buckets. We had heavy downpours of rain and high wind. Now the cold is here. Our temperature this morning is 10 degrees. We have wind gusts of 50 mph, wind chill temps below zero, and snow on the ground. It is very cold.
School has went well this week. On Wednesday, we helped a friend by changing some light fixtures. They are moving into a new place and are doing some small upgrades to the place before they move in. We took our school with us. As I have said before, this is one of the things we love about homeschooling. School adjusts to our schedule not our schedule adjusting to school. It was a nice day. We did a lot of catch-up as we had not really seen them in a while.
Well, I guess that’s about it. Stay warm and God bless.
Here are two new aprons I just finished. I think the red polka dot is so cheerful. I think it would make anyone happy wearing it around doing household chores, don’t you? Today has not been a very pleasant day here in our little section of God’s creation. High wind has been the main issue today. Gusts up to about 70 mph and a steady wind of about 40-50 mph. We tried to go down to the barn a little while ago to get milk. The drifts were too high for our old 86 Chevy truck to get through even in 4wheel low. The wind is blowing so hard, the chimney is having a hard time drawing, so it has been a challenge keeping the fire going. If you look outside, you would think we live in Alaska. Of course, I’ve never been to Alaska, but it looks like the pictures I’ ve saw. We awoke this morning to single digit temperatures with below zero wind chills. The temperatures did not come out of the teens all day and the wind has continued to blow stronger. The weatherman says we are in a “nor’easter” ( I’m not sure I spelled that correct) until sometime tomorrow afternoon and then the wind will calm to about 20-30 mph. Oh well, that’s winter. Okay, I’ve complained enough about the weather for one day. I know things could be so much worse. We still have electricity, the water isn’t frozen and it’s warm inside our home. God is good! As my step-grandmother used to say “Praise the name of my King” I pray you all will keep warm and safe this night. God Bless.
I thought I would share some of my flowers with you. The second picture is of the garden. The third is my most favorite spot in the entire yard. I love to sit on this swing and enjoy the view. My hubby redid the swing last year. It was one of those from Wal-Mart with fabric for the seat. It also had a fabric cover on top however one Floyd winter can destroy much. We have lots of high wind here so of course the top was the first to go, another year or so and the seat was in really bad shape. So he ripped all that out and put treated wood on it. I love it. God and I have so many special talks right here in this swing. Early spring pictures from my swing. Enjoy
