A Beautiful Sunset

For the last few days, we have been enjoying beautiful sunsets.  We thought this one was exceptionally pretty. My thanks to Grace for taking the picture.  It looked like a highway and it stretched almost all the way across the sky.  God certainly is awesome.

We have been doing the usual around here.  Cleaning, canning etc.  Tuesday evening we visited with the Horn’s.  Vicki made her delicious potato soup.  Madison made a tomato pie, with fresh tomatoes and herbs she had raised and dried herself.  It was delicious.  It tasted amazingly like pizza.  We all loved it.

Today, I am meeting Mrs. Sally in “little town”.  She has a stock pot she is going to let me borrow for making spaghetti sauce.  I think the brand name is Calphalon.  She says it is wonderful and that her sauce never sticks.  I am excited about giving it a try and grateful to her for letting us use it.  Mrs. Faye from our church will also meet us there in town.  I picked up an outdoor canner for her yesterday and she wants to get started using it as soon as possible.

Well, I thinks that’s it for now.  I have lots to get done so I better get busy.  Enjoy your day and God bless.

Still No Pictures

Well, we came back home yesterday evening and I did remember to bring the camera.  The problem is the camera card is in Jessica’s pocket book.  So still no pictures.  Anyway, we have got a lot done.  All the walls and ceiling is finished.  Dave and Jess are painting it this weekend while we are home.  She decided to paint the room a light blue, the official name is icy blue.  It sounds really pretty.  We are staying here until Monday morning then going back down to work some more.  We will be coming back home Tuesday evening as Hubby has some work coming up this week.  He still has to lay the tile on the floor and do some more to the electrical.  We will be starting our revival at church tomorrow.  I am really looking forward to hearing the preacher who is bringing the message.  I have never heard him before but others that have say he does a really good job. The youth from his church will be doing the music.  We will be having a fellowship meal tomorrow following the service (of course), you know we gotta eat.  I think I will take potato soup and salisbury steak with gravy.  I’m not sure if I’ll have time to make a dessert or not but there usually is an abundance of desserts.

Temperatures here are cool-mid 50’s.  It has been raining most of the day.  It is also pretty foggy.  I think it will be a nice sleeping night.  I just made some blueberry muffins and they are ready to eat.  I think I’ll see if they are good.  Enjoy your day and God bless.

Snow

Our first snow!  The snow started about 6:30 this morning and is still coming down at 2:00.  The girls are so happy.  They have been out several times to play.  The Horn family is supposed to come over later this afternoon for a visit.  The girls can hardly wait.  Playing in the snow with their best friends.  Vicki is bringing homemade potato soup.  I am making homemade rolls and dessert.  Our tree is up and snow is falling.  It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas around here.  I love this time of year.  God Bless

Quilt and Apron

Today has been a busy day.  Rain and temperatures have fallen all day.  A good day for sewing.  I finished the Christmas lap quilt and had enough material left to make an apron.  I think they both look pretty good.  I hope to sell the quilt for $25.0o and aprons are $12.00.  I wish I had more seasonal material, fall & Christmas especially.  I also set up another quilt this evening but I think I’m done for today.   Tomorrow is church day and I need to do my Sunday School and Sunday Evening lessons.  I think for tomorrow night at church I will take potato soup.  These colder temperatures make me think of soup.   Have a good evening and God Bless.
