Rainy Tuesday

Hello everyone!  We are really getting rain today.  I think it is predicted to get about 5″ but I think we have already gotten that much.  Well, we really need rain so I’m thankful besides I love the sound of rain on our tin roof.  Makes me want to curl up with a good book and a cup of coffee or tea.  However, that is not possible as we are still working on apples.  I love the fact that we have all these apples but I am getting a little tired of working on them.  So Thursday or Friday, Mrs. Faye and her hubby and us are going to Mt. Airy to purchase new crop pinto beans.  We will be spending the day looking at little shops along the way and fun things like that.  Then she and I are going to get together next week and can them or at least that’s the plan as of now.  I went to her house yesterday to help her with her apples.  We did apple juice, applesauce and canned apples.  We had a lot of fun together.

Well, that’s about it.  Sorry I haven’t posted much but there’s not much going on here.  I don’t think I mentioned it but Mt. Airy is the home of the Andy Griffith show.  Have any of you ever watched it?  I’ll try to take some pictures to show you all.  Enjoy your day and God bless.

  1. I know what you mean about apples. I am finally doing up the last of the pears today. You can get too tired of doing it but it is so worth it come winter. Your upcoming trip sounds really fun. I hope that you can take some pictures. We love watching the Andy Griffith show.

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the rain.

  2. I am sipping on a cup of hot tea right now. I only have English and Spelling left to do with McKenzie, and I am finished(except making supper) for the day. You make me feel so lazy! Visiting little shops sounds like so much fun! We watched an episode of The Andy Griffith Show during our lunch break. We love that show!

    Have a great trip!

  3. I enjoy the rain as well. The smell, sound, and just knowing that the water will still fall clean from the sky is lovely, though flooding is not exciting in the least. smile Your plans with friends sounds nice. I hope you all have a great time. I also enjoy putting up apples in different ways. We like them dried, as sauce, and in baked oatmeal so just as pie filling. smile And they are good for you too. big smile I hope your apple canning season slows down soon and that your pantry overflows with your hard work. smile Sincerely, Mommy of two growing blessings & so much more!
