I wanted to give you all an update on the homemade yogurt. I did like it very much. I think it is the best recipe I have tried so far. I am going to try using pureed fruit next time as I think it could be more fruity. I used peach jelly with this try.
Not much going on here today. School, cleaning and laundry as usual. Our temperatures have dropped considerably. 25 degrees this morning when we got up. It is about 30 degrees right now as I type this. Needless to say, we do have a fire. I do not like cold but I do like having a fire. This way, we can cook on the wood stove and not have to use the electric stove. Saving money, yeah! Well, I don’t know exactly how much money it saves but I do enjoy doing it.

I was just thinking that I forgot to ask you about the yogurt. I am going to make some this evening using this method http://arestful-place.blogspot.com/2012/12/easily-make-yogurt-at-home-in-crock-pot.html I had peaches for lunch and was wishing I had yogurt to eat with it. It is 39º here right now. I am going to pretend like it is still warm!

We have also got cooler. I think we are suppose to be in the high 30s the rest of the week and into next week. I like having our fire going as well.

Ahh! big smile I am on the laptop and leaving a comment. big smile I am with you about the saving money thing. Every time I talk to my beloved husband about different things I do to try to cut down on the cost of our living or on our “foot print” he shares with me that he is pleased that I am happy and takes care of our four recycle bins when we got to the dump, but the dent I am making is small. It’s also about the joy it brings to be doing … something. You know. smile It makes him simle that I am trying and I am very glad he doesn’t push for more from me. big smile We are not a “green family” per say, but we enjoy dabbling in it. We line dry our cloths in the long days of summer pretty regularly and I try to remember in the fall and spring. smile We are richly blessed to have the choice and while I do I use it. smile If, one day, I didn’t have the choice, I would adjust like the pioneer ladies did I am sure, but while I have it I use it and don’t feel defeated when I do. smile Though I do have a sence of pride or accomplishment when I do my dishes by hand, line dry my cloths regularly, or keep my home ready for guests at the drop of a hat. The dishes thing happens most often and that’s not every day. smile
I should let you get back to your life away from this computer. smile Have a great “normal” day. Those are so wonderful and relaxing knowing what is coming down the pike is wonderful. smile Having a healthy family is a delight in which I am exceedingly greatful!
