Today I was doing some much needed cleaning on the shelves that hold my teapots. I came across this old cream and sugar set. There is a story that goes with these. These are approximatedly 75 years old. They belonged to my mother. She said when she was a very young girl-about 6 or 8 yrs old-an old peddler came by their house riding a horse. On his horse, he had several saddle bags filled with trinkets to sell. One of them was the cream and sugar set. She said she remembered begging her dad to buy them for her. I guess she must have given him the right look because as you can see he did purchase them. My grandfather was a logger and money was not easy to come by. This set always held a special place in her heart. Every time she would clean them up, she would tell me this story so today, as I cleaned them, I told my girls how this particular set came to be in our home. Memories are special. They need to be shared.
This is another old set I have. The sugar bowl was my grandmothers and the cream pitcher was my mother-in-laws. Hubby bought me the teapot several years ago. All I need now are some cups and saucers to match.
Tonights supper is homemade soup. I am making a new bread recipe to go with it. I’ll let you know how it turns out. Enjoy your evening and God bless.
What memories you have of the sugar and creamer set. How neat to be able to pass on that in families. I love the pattern on the other set.
Have a great evening with your family.

I like them both a lot! The cobalt blue designs on the bottom set is very intersting and would be what I would bring out on just a winter January day like today. But, oh the thos top ones!!! Just so elegant in their simplicity. And the History… so fun!
Is there a small flower pattern on them? It looks like it is. So delightful! I bet they bring joy to your home.

I LOVE them all! I love antique glass items. Are the tops ones made out of milkglass? I love the other ones too. Very precious! I will be on the lookout for you some matching cups and saucers. I go to alot of antique stores and places and they always have tons of dishes in there of all colors and designs.I hope your bread turns out wonderful! Soup sounds good on a cold day like today. We are smoking a deer shoulder outside. Hoping it turns out tender 🙂 Have a great day.

I love old things too. I think I have admired your blue and white set lots of times but have never seen the white cream and sugar set. I want to look for more in thrift shops too! We were hoping to go thrift shopping today but Quentin, Madison, and Bubby went grocery shopping and I stayed home with a sick McKenzie. They got lots of interesting meals like lots of pizza stuff but no sauce, and yummy taco stuff but no cheese. Makes me smile, lots. I love them anyway. I was too lazy to make a list. I have Dollar General Market memorized and I don’t need a list. I always know what I need and after all there isn’t a lot to choose from 🙂 I started some fermented sauerkraut (I always thought it was sour kraut) today. I will let you know how it turns out. Looks like I just need to call you by the size of my comment. I hope you all are well.
