I wanted to show you all my new pizza pan. Jess got me this for Christmas!! I have been wanting a cast iron pizza pan for quite a while. I LOVE it!! It really makes a difference in the crust. I have posted the crust recipe I use here https://merryheartcrafts.com/category/recipes/bread I’ve tried many and many homemade crust recipes. This is by far the best I have tried and very easy to make.
We make a lot of homemade pizza here for three reasons. One, it is 20 min from our home to the closest pizza place. That’s 20 min there, 20 min back-not good. Second, they are expensive-not the Little Caesar’s $5.00 pizzas. Third, we just like homemade stuff better. That being said, guess what we had for lunch today.
We are getting settled in today for some serious cold weather. We were supposed to have snow today but that did not happen. Our temperature has dropped 20 degrees since we got up this morning and is supposed to drop 20 more by midnight. Tomorrow mornings low is -5 with a wind chill of -25. I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT!!! Hopefully, power stays on and water does not freeze. I keep reminding myself, spring is on the way. I hope you all stay warm and God bless.
Okay, I am shivering now!
I love the pizza pan, and homemade pizza too.

I love love love your pan. I can’t wait to try your dough recipe.( welli I should say Jayne can’t wait for me to try your dough recipe as Pizza is her favorite food in the world, she could eat it and has eaten it 3 meals a day)
I will put together tomorrow’s post and show you how I made my supper. I took some pics as I was making it tonight.
As for the dishwasher deterdent I just take 1cup borax,1 cup washing soda, 1/2 cup corse pickling salt. Mix in my food processor with the blade. Store it in a glass jar and just fill my cup in the dishwasher. Sometimes depending on whats in there I fill the extra cup too. Just add a TBSP of lemon juice to the bottom before running it. I will make some this week and post some pics on that too. Hope this helps. Take care and try to stay warm. I know all about those freezing temps.

I have an air bake pizza pan and have the darndest time getting pizza to turn out right on it. I may have to keep my eyes out for one like yours. smile Either that or a Pampered Chef stone one. smile Your’s looks so tasty. I hope you all are staying warm there with your pizza and freezing temperatures. We finally got our first snow, thought it was only about an inch, we were thankful for some snow. smile We normally get two large droppings of four inches or so with a few droppings here or there, but not yet this winter. Have a great day and thanks for sharing your fun new pan. Sincerely, Mommy of two growing blessings & so much more!
