Homemade Bread Crumbs

Okay, so I realize sometimes I am a little late to the party.  Most of you have probably been doing this for years but I am just now starting to make my own bread crumbs.  For one thing, bread crumbs is not something I use very often so it just seemed easier to buy them from the store.  About the only thing I use them for is salmon cakes.  Salmon cakes are a favorite here.  Many, many thanks to my friend, Retia, for sharing her salmon with us last fall.  You can read about canning the salmon on this post if you are interested https://merryheartcrafts.com/2013/10/08/canning-salmon  Okay so back to making bread crumbs.  I found this recipe on line at food network.  It is Alton Brown’s recipe for Homemade Italian Bread Crumb.  I will now join the thousands of women who make their own bread crumbs.  So easy and my house smells wonderful.

Enjoy your day and God bless.

  1. I want to make meatball subs next week and need Italian bread crumbs for the meatballs. Maybe I will give this recipe a try. I think I have an old loaf of rye bread in the freezer. 🙂

  2. I haven’t made my own bread crumbs. I will have to try that. I like your ice pictures. Josie had about a 14 inch icicle today.

Have a wonderful evening with your family.
