This is one of our brush piles to be burned or as some of the old time Grundy people would say “brash”. I am assuming this would be some of our celtic roots coming through. I have no idea really. I do know the older people had a different word for lots of things. Help was hope, cover was kiver, boiled was biled. These are a few that come to mind right off the top of my head. Anyway we have this one piled in the first garden to be burned as soon as we can catch a day with not too much wind.
We are supposed to get much warmer today-upper 50’s I think. We will hopefully be doing more outside work after school. The sun is shining beautifully but it is still chilly right now-30 degrees. I have clothes that are ready to go to the line. I love it when we can dry them outside. The birds are telling me to hear out so I can hear them sing. God is so good!

Are you talking about Grundy VA.? My husband’s family is from Paynesville W.VA. Grundy VA. is about a 30-40 minute ride from them. It’s the nearest town.
I am always amazed when we go by there and see the Grundy Golden Wave on the side of the mountain. Hubby was raised in the W. VA mountains, I’m a flatlander.

That is a good sized brash pile 🙂 Our little piles are nothing compared to yours. We have just been shoveling them to the chickens. They will compost them down eventually. Madison caught one of our brush piles on fire with a magnifying glass on a very windy day. It was one of those days a while back when we had a no burn, high wind warning. We were running to get water to put it out!! And everyone thinks she is all sweet and innocent 🙂

I hope you get a pretty no wind day so you can burn your pile. I know you are so glad the tempts are starting to get warmer. i love to hear the birds sing as well. Your lilac bush is looking so pretty. I love old dishes too! They are hard for me to resist when out at thrift store and yard sales 🙂 How neat you found a matching mug ! Hope you have a great day.
